ABOUT PAWS AT PLAY TRAINING

Currently, Paws at Play Training is a sole proprietorship. In 2005 the owner, Amanda, graduated from Ball State University and got her first job out of college at a medical company in her hometown of Warsaw, Indiana. At this job she met her future husband, who was originally from St. Louis. After dating for awhile and his relocation back to his hometown for a job, she then decided to relocate so that they could be closer. After some time in St. Louis she adopted her first dog in 2006, Roscoe, a Jack Russell Terrier Mix. As a puppy he definitely put her beside herself on how to train him. She did her first puppy obedience class with him and found it very knowledgable. In 2007 she moved to Chicago because of a job relocation and to be closer to her family in Indiana. After moving she decided she was not happy in my career and was looking for a change. She thought about the things she loved and loved doing and started thinking about her love for animals. When she was child she used to tell people she wanted to be a vet. After a great deal of thought this led her to Animal Behavior College and wanting to become a trainer. In 2008 she decided to go through Animal Behavior College’s dog trainer program. After a lot of self studying, exams, volunteer work at a shelter and an internship with a trainer for 18 weeks, she graduated in May 2009. In June 2009 she started her career as a dog trainer and started her own business. In September 2009 her husband and her decided to adopt another dog, Cole, an eight week year old German Shepherd Mix. With her expertise in training she has been able to train him into a great companion. In 2010 she took a leave of absence from dog training for a few months to have our first child.  Since her first child she have been working hard to keep her company going and continuing her education in training.
